Discover how to secure your seat for travel on Italo
When purchasing via our website or App, you have the option to choose your preferred seat during the ticket purchase process by checking the seat map. After completing the purchase, seat management is available exclusively through Italo Assistance at 892020 (calls will incur charges) or with Italo staff present at the station.*
If you don't select a new seat during the modification process, don't worry; the system will automatically assign you a seat on the new train you've chosen.
If you decide to get a refund for your ticket, you'll also receive reimbursement for the cost of selecting your seat. The exact procedure for this follows the guidelines outlined in the Transportation Contract.

Please note that some stations might have a checkpoint before you can access the platform. Simply show your ticket and you will be allowed entry.
Family travel with children
Children under 36 months travel free on Italo if held by an adult and not occupying a seat
However, if you opt for the Italo Family offer, children under the age of 14 travel for free and adults have a discount of 50%! The family or group must consist of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 travelers, including at least 1 adult.

Travel with your dog, cat and other pets
However, for medium or large dogs, or if you prefer not to use a carrier, select “Dog” in the “Add Passengers” section when purchasing your ticket. This service allows you to bring your dog on board without a carrier and keep them with you throughout the entire journey, all at an affordable price.** Your dog will have a dedicated space, ensuring a comfortable journey by your side.
The service can be purchased on this website, on the Italo Trains App, at the station at the Italo ticket offices or by calling Pronto Italo 060708.
*Animals must remain inside the carrier for the entire journey. Only one carrier per passenger is allowed.
** Your dog must be leashed and muzzled when boarding and exiting the train.
