The availability and price of ITALO's commercial offers are limited and vary depending on the trains, days of the week, travel class, time of purchase in relation to the departure of the chosen train, and the sales channel.

The Passenger is required to inform the ITALO staff on board the train of the Ticket Code and to present a valid identification document in order to verify the ownership of the transport ticket.

  • The Super Flex offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You may change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with payment of any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of Name is subject to payment.
    The Super Flex offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    Refund: 90% of the price of the Super Flex offer.
    The Super Flex offer comes with Extra Time.

  • The Flex Standard offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You may change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with payment of any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of Name is subject to payment.
    The Flex Standard offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    Refund: 80% of the price of the Flex Standard offer.
    The Flex Standard offer comes with Extra Time.
    Effective from: 28/03/2024.

    Flex Lounge offer, where present, allows access to ITALO Lounges in the station, subject to space capacity and other possible restrictions.

  • The Economy offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel for an additional 20% of the ticket fare, plus any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a charge for the change of name.
    The Economy offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train.
    Refund: 50% of the price of the Economy offer.
    Effective from: 04/12/2024.
  • The Economy Lounge offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You may change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel for an additional 20% of the ticket fare, in addition to any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a charge for the change of name.
    Economy Lounge offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    Refund: 60% of the Economy Lounge offer price.
    The Economy Lounge offer, where present, allows access to ITALO Lounges in the station, subject to space capacity and other possible restrictions.
    Effective from: 20/01/2022.
  • The Low Cost offer is changeable up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You may change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel for an additional 60% of the ticket fare, plus any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a charge for the change of name.
    The Low Cost offer is non-refundable.

  • The eXtra offer is not modifiable.
    There is a fee for the change of name.

  • The Aboard offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train. You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with payment of any difference in price from the offer available at the time of the change. Change of Name is subject to payment. The aboard offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train. Refund: 80% of the price of the aboard offer. The aboard offer comes with Extra Time.   • The Italo Young offer is dedicated to Passengers aged between 14 years of age and 30 years of age or younger.
    The Italo Young offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with a 60% supplement to the ticket, in addition to any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of name is subject to a fee and exclusively with another Passenger between the ages of 14 years and 30 years and under.
    The Italo Young offer is non-refundable.
    The Passenger is obliged to communicate to ITALO staff on the train the Ticket Code and show a valid identity document in order to verify ownership of the Ticket and also the characteristics of Italo Young offer.
    Effective from: 04/12/2024
  • The Italo Senior offer is dedicated to Passengers over 60 years of age.
    The Italo Senior offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with a 60% surcharge on the ticket, in addition to any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of name is subject to a fee and exclusively with another Passenger over 60 years of age.
    The Italo Senior offer is non-refundable.
    The Passenger is obliged to communicate to ITALO staff on the train the Ticket Code and show a valid identity document in order to verify ownership of the Ticket and also the characteristics of Italo Senior offer.
    Effective from: 04/12/2024
  • The Italo Friends offer is dedicated to mini-groups from 3 to 10 Passengers.
    The Italo Friends offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with a 60% supplement to the ticket, in addition to any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a charge for the change of name.
    The Italo Friends offer, as a rule, is non-refundable unless the "Refund" option is purchased at the same time as the ticket.
    Ticket Separation, as referred to in Articles 9 and 10 of the Contract of Carriage, is not allowed for Italo Friends offer holders.

  • The Italo 2x1 offer is dedicated to minigroups of 2 Passengers.
    The Italo 2x1 offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel for an additional charge of 60% of the ticket, in addition to any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a charge for the change of name.
    The Italo 2x1 offer, as a rule, is non-refundable unless the "Refund" option is purchased at the same time as the ticket.
    Ticket Separation, as referred to in Articles 9 and 10 of the Contract of Carriage, is not permitted to holders of an Italo 2x1 offer.

  • The Italo Family offer is dedicated to minigroups from 2 to 4 Passengers and grants free of charge to Passengers who have not yet reached the age of 14.
    The minigroup must include at least one Passenger over the age of 18.
    The Italo Family offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the selected train. You can change the class, date, and/or time of travel with a 60% ticket supplement, plus any fare difference based on the current offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of name is subject to a fee while respecting the age for free recognition.
    The Italo Family offer is non-refundable.
    The Passenger is obliged to communicate to ITALO staff on the train the Ticket Code and show a valid identity document in order to verify ownership of the Ticket and also the characteristics of Italo Family offer.
    Effective from: 05/11/2024
  • The Day Return offer is a single ticket consisting of two trips, one outbound and one return on the same route, to be used within the same day.
    The Day Return offer is changeable according to travel class and/or time of travel.
    Up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train, if the Day Return offer is still available, a change can be requested through ITALO Staff at the station of departure, Italo Assistance, Website, and travel agencies by paying any difference in price compared to the offer available at the time of the change.
    On the day of the journey and up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train, if the Day Return offer is not available, the change can be requested only once and exclusively through Italo Assistance or Italo Staff at the station and involves payment of any difference with the price applicable to the Flex offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of name is subject to payment.
    The Day Return offer is non-refundable.

  • The Magic Round-trip offer can only be purchased in combination with other ITALO offers in a single ticket consisting of two trips, one outbound and one return on the same route, to be made on different dates.
    The Magic Round-trip offer cannot be combined with the aboard offer, the same-day round-trip offer, the Stand-By offer, and the Carnet products.
    The Magic Round-Trip offer can be modified up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the selected train. You can change the class, date, and/or time of travel with a 60% ticket supplement, plus any fare difference based on the current offer available at the time of the change.
    There is a fee for the change of name.
    The Magic Round-trip offer, as a rule, is non-refundable unless the "Refund" option is purchased at the same time as the ticket.

  • The Carnet Flex product allows you to purchase exclusively for yourself a series of discounted tickets for a specific route and travel class.
    The Carnet Flex product is neither changeable nor refundable.
    Carnet Flex tickets must be used for travel no later than the expiration date of the Carnet Flex.
    Carnet Flex tickets not used by the expiration date will not be refunded.
    Flex Carnet tickets are not bookable for Sundays, holidays, and pre-holidays.
    In case of abuse in the use of the Carnet Flex, ITALO reserves the right to deactivate the Carnet by preventing the use of the remaining tickets and sending appropriate notice to the email contact provided during purchase.
    Carnet Flex tickets, within the expiration of the product, are changeable, only if the Carnet Flex product is available on the new train chosen.
    If allowed, one can change the date and/or time of the trip free of charge.
    The change is possible through exclusively italotreno.com and Italo Assistance up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train and in any case within the validity period.
    Change of name is not permitted.
    Carnet Flex tickets are non-refundable.
    The Passenger is obliged to communicate to ITALO staff on the train the Ticket Code and show a valid identity document in order to verify ownership of the Ticket and also the characteristics of Carnet Flex tickets.
    Effective from: 12/9/2024
  • The Carnet Economy product allows you to purchase exclusively for yourself a series of discounted tickets for a specific route and travel class.
    The Carnet Economy product is neither changeable nor refundable.
    Economy Carnet tickets must be used for travel no later than the expiration date of the Economy Carnet.
    Economy Carnet tickets not used by the expiration date will not be refunded.
    Economy Carnet tickets cannot be booked for Sundays, holidays, and pre-holidays.
    In case of abuse in the use of the Carnet Economy, ITALO reserves the right to deactivate the Carnet by preventing the use of the remaining tickets and sending appropriate notice to the email contact provided during purchase.
    Carnet Economy tickets, within the expiration of the product, are changeable, only if the Carnet Economy product is available on the new train chosen.
    If allowed, you can change the date and/or time of travel free of charge.
    The change is possible exclusively through italotreno.com and Italo Assistance up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    Change of name is not permitted.

  • The Carnet Business product allows companies registered in the dedicated area of italotreno.com to purchase a series of discounted tickets for a specific route and travel class.
    The Carnet Business product is neither changeable nor refundable.
    Carnet Business tickets must be traveled no later than the expiration date of the Carnet Business.
    Carnet Business tickets not used by the expiration date will not be refunded.
    Business Carnet tickets are not bookable for Sundays, holidays, and pre-holidays.
    Carnet Business tickets, within the expiration of the product, are changeable, only if the Carnet Business product is available on the new train chosen.
    If allowed, you can change the date and/or time of travel free of charge.
    The change is possible through exclusively italotreno.it up to 3 minutes before the scheduled departure of the chosen train.
    Change of name is free of charge.
    Carnet Business tickets are non-refundable.
  • The Stand-by offer allows you to purchase a ticket without an assigned seat where any other offer in the Prima Business, Comfort, and Smart classes is no longer available.
    The Stand-by offer, in full compliance with current security protocols, the availability and price of the Stand-by offer option are limited and vary depending on the trains, the days of the week, the travel class, the sales channel and the time of purchase with respect to the departure of the chosen train.
    While onboard the train, the Passenger must follow the instructions given by ITALO Staff.
    The Stand-by offer is changeable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train.
    You can change the travel class and/or date and/or time of travel with payment of any price difference from the offer available at the time of the change.
    Change of Name is subject to payment.
    The Stand-by offer is refundable up to 3 minutes before the departure of the chosen train.
    Refund: 80% of the price of the Stand-by offer.
    The Stand-by offer is not compatible with the presence of an Infant referred to in Article 11 of the Contract of Carriage.

  • Extra Time is an option that belongs to the Super Flex, Flex Standard, Flex, Flex Lounge, and Aboard commercial offers and which, up to 1 hour after the scheduled departure of the missed train, allows you to be re-routed on the first available train of the same day, where there is seat availability for the travel class originally booked.
    Extra Time entails the payment of a fixed amount of 10 euros in addition to the difference with the available Aboard offer as well as any supplementary charge if applicable.
    Extra Time can be requested through Italo Assistance phone number and ITALO Staff at the station of departure.
    The passenger may request re-routing on an earlier train than the one proposed. In case of a higher class, the passenger is required to pay the difference with the Aboard offer for the higher class. In case of a lower class, the passenger is required to pay the difference with the Aboard offer for the lower class.
    If the train originally booked is the last train of the day, the Passenger will be re-routed only on the next day and on the first train where there is seat availability for the originally booked travel class.
    Extra Time does not guarantee the provision of additional services, which in any case will not be reimbursed.

  • The Change of Name, as regulated for ITALO's various commercial offers, may involve a supplementary fee. In addition, it is hereby clarified that:
    - in the event that the same Ticket carries more than one route, the Change of Name must be made up to three minutes before the scheduled departure time of the train of the first route indicated on the Ticket.
    - in the event that the same Ticket carries more than one route in connection (cumulative ticket), a payment of a single supplement is required;
    - in the event that the same Ticket carries an outward and a return route, it is required payment for each single leg.

  • The "choice of paid seat" option allows the passenger when purchasing his or her ticket to select a specific seat, from those still available, on the chosen train, except as stipulated in ITALO's Contract of Carriage.
    The availability and price of the "choice of paid seat" option are limited and variable depending on the trains, the days of the week, the commercial offer to be purchased, the travel class, the seat to be selected, the time of purchase with respect to the departure of the chosen train, and the sales channel.
    In the event of a ticket change (date, time, and travel class), the ticket fare for the "paid seat choice" option will concur with the amount to be paid for the change, except for the change made through ITALO Staff on board.
    If the "choice of paid seat" option is again exercised during the change, the passenger will be required to pay for the new choice.
    If the "choice of paid seat" option will not be exercised again at the modification stage, the assignment on the new chosen train will be automatic.
    After the purchase of the ticket, it is possible to add or change the "choice of paid seat" option while remaining in the same travel class.
    This operation can be done exclusively through Italo Assistance phone number and ITALO Staff present at the station, with a cost to be added related only to the assistance operation.
    If the ticket is refunded, the "choice of paid seat" option will be refunded according to the terms established in the Contract of Carriage.
    ITALO reserves the right to change the "choice of paid seat" for operational, security, control, and reprotection reasons.
    If the transportation service is cancelled, the "choice of paid seat" option will be refunded in the manner set forth in the Transportation Contract.
    The price of "paid seat choice" option will not contribute to the compensation in case of arrival delay of more than 60 minutes.

  • On the date of trip and prior to the scheduled departure indicated on your ticket, the "Leave Now" option, upon payment, allows passengers to advance their trip to an earlier train.
    The availability and price of the "Leave Now" option are limited and vary depending on the trains, days of the week, the commercial offer purchased, and the travel class.
    The "Leave Now" option can only be exercised through the Website, ITALO Staff present at the departure station, and Italo Assistance.
    Once the "Leave Now" option is exercised, the ticket, regardless of the commercial offer originally purchased, will become non-refundable and non-changeable.
    The price of the "Leave Now" option will not contribute to compensation in the event of an arrival delay of more than 60 minutes.
    Effective from: 22/12/2021
  • "Price Lock" is a pay-as-you-go option that allows the customer to lock in the price of the selected commercial offer aboard the chosen train for a limited time, without having to simultaneously pay the ticket fare.
    The availability and price of the "Price Lock" option are limited and variable depending on the trains, days of the week, the commercial offer to be purchased, the travel class, the time of purchase with respect to the departure of the chosen train, and the sales channel.
    Within the time frame, the customer must confirm the reservation and pay the price of the chosen commercial offer.
    If, after this time period has elapsed, the customer has not purchased the ticket by paying the price of the chosen commercial offer, he/she will lose the "Price Lock" option without the right to a refund of the amount already paid.
    Once exercised, the "Price Lock" option is not modifiable and is not refundable with the sole exception of cases of cancellations or delays in departure of more than 60 minutes.
    Once exercised, the "Price Lock" option inhibits "Ticket Separation," as referred to in Articles 9 and 10 of the Contract of Carriage on the subject of ticket exchange and refund, to the Collective Transportation Securities, as referred to in Article 5 of the Contract of Carriage.
    The price of the "Price Lock" option does not contribute to the compensation in case of arrival delay of more than 60 minutes.
    Effective from: 24/3/2022
  • "REFUND OPTION" is a paid option that, when purchasing a ticket, allows the customer to make the ITALO commercial offer being purchased refundable.
    The availability and price of the "REFUND OPTION" are limited and variable depending on the trains, the days of the week, the commercial offer to be purchased, the travel, the time of purchase with respect to the departure of the chosen train, and the sales channel.
    Once purchased at the same time as the ticket, the "REFUND OPTION" makes the commercial offer refundable up to 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the chosen train. Refund: 80% of the purchased commercial offer.
    The "REFUND OPTION" is non-refundable.
    The price of the "REFUND OPTION" does not contribute to the compensation in case of arrival delay of more than 60 minutes.
